Then & Now Unit
By looking at our past and thinking forward into the future, we not only gift our learners with an appreciation for things, but also encourage them toward innovative thinking. In this unit, we will introduce the concept of change over time as we look at the history of communication, transportation, and daily life.
This theme based unit is for children ages 5-7. We've included 4 lessons to work through at your own pace, in your own timing. In addition, each lesson includes an "Expand It!" page with 2-4 corresponding activities to further your learner's experience. The material is simply laid out for you, including materials you'll need, how to do each activity, and additional ways to experience the subject. Each lesson incorporates multiple learning subjects to maximize your time and teaching efforts, while giving your learner a hands-on, heart-centered experience.

- Past, Present, Future (timeline of events, continuity of time, prehistory, history, modern day, future, time specific words)
- Communication (pictograms, cuneiform, Alexander Graham Bell, Morse code, email)
